Architecture
As our great cities evolve, the importance of buildings and their place in contemporary culture is a subject of popular discussion as never before. Here are in-depth, candid interviews with twelve of today’s best-known working architects, including Frank Gehry, I.M. Pei, Renzo Piano and Richard Meier. These informal conversations cover diverse topics such as work style and philosophy, favorite and least-favorite buildings, and the architects’ views on the place of architecture in the arts and the world. Kelvin Browne interviews his subjects in a way that addresses the layman’s curiosity while appreciating the important principles at the heart of architecture.
KELVIN BROWNE was appointed Managing Director of the Institute for Contemporary Culture at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in 2004, and is currently the vice president of marketing for the ROM. He has a Bachelor and Masters of Architecture from the University of Toronto. Mr Browne writes regularly for periodicals and newspapers on architecture, design, photography and urban issues.
