The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John have moved many of the world’s greatest artists to create masterpieces. Gospels: The Bible in Art features the complete King James version of the Gospels interpreted by masters such as Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Tissot, as well as lesser known and even anonymous artists of the Christian era. Gospels elegantly illustrates the power of text to inspire and the beauty of art to narrate.
SISTER WENDY BECKETT entered the order of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1946. As an art critic, Sister Wendy Beckett has written more than a dozen books and narrated a popular BBC television series that was broadcast on PBS in the U.S.
